Har-Ber High School Graduation


Springdale Har-Ber High School held their commencement ceremony at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville Saturday May 23, 2009. The school graduated 396 students Saturday. The Springdale Har-Ber class of 2009 earned $3.2 million in scholarships and awards. Auto dealer Clay Maxey served as the keynote speaker at the ceremony.

Springdale High School Graduation


Springdale High School held their commencement ceremony Saturday May 23, 2009 at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville. Springdale High School graduated 426 students. The class garnered $2.1 million in scholarships and awards from colleges, community members, businesses, the military and other awards. Combined with Har-Ber High School, Springdale graduates received $5.3 million in scholarship offers, about $1 million more than last year. Seventeen Springdale High School graduates are candidates for the International Baccalaureate Diploma, which will be awarded later in the summer. The International Baccalaureate candidates have been offered $1 million in scholarships. Olympian April Steiner-Bennett was the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony.

Bentonville High School Graduation

Bentonville High School Graduation


Bentonville High School held their graduation ceremony at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville Saturday May 23, 2009. Bentonville has the second largest graduating class in Northwest Arkansas with 648 students. The schools’ graduates garnered $8,546,984 in scholarships, $3.5 million more than last year. Of those, $151,800 were community scholarships. Ryan Adams, Rob Ferrell, Austin McCollum, Brandon Sleeth and Colton Steen were awarded full scholarships to the U.S. Air Force Academy. Each scholarship is valued at $403,000. Bentonville students also acheived on the athletic field, winning state championships in football, girls cross country, volleyball, wrestling, boys swim/dive, girls swim/dive, girls indoor track, girls soccer, and girls outdoor track.

Rogers High School Graduation


Rogers High School held theirĀ  commencement ceremony Friday May 22, 2009 at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville. Rogers High School had the largest class in Northwest Arkansas with 756 students. Next year the graduates will be split between the two Rogers’ high schools. The graduating class had 148 honor graduates with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4 point system. The graduates garnered $4,950,375 in scholarships. Of those, $340,000 were community scholarships. Rogers High School student Michael Tibbs received a $403,000 scholarship to the U.S. Air Force Academy. The RHS 2009 class motto is ” Behind us are memories, beside us are friends. Before us are dreams that will never end.”

Fayetteville High School Graduation

Fayetteville High School Graduation


530 Fayetteville High School graduates received diplomas Thursday with 225 of the seniors graduating with honors with an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Class members were offered about $6 million in scholarships and awards from colleges, community members, businesses, the military and other awards. The Class of 2009 will be remembered for establishing two new traditions for seniors at Fayetteville High School. First was the Moving Up Ceremony where seniors leave the school on their last day by walking through a column of teachers. The other was the Senior Breakfast, held Wednesday at the Arkansas Union. Both events were hosted by the Dog Crew, a group of students, mostly seniors, under the sponsorship of teacher Michelle Fife.
