Today my assignment was to photograph wakeboarding to preview the BLT Wakeboard Festival at Prairie Creek Recreational Area on Beaver Lake. No one was wakeboarding Friday, but the group was having a wake surfing competition that was really cool. The competitors use a rope to start them on the water and then throw the rope to the boat and ride the wake. Someone tried to explain this to me but I didn’t really understand it until I saw it. So here are some photos from what I would call the best seat in the house… or boat.

Nice work, I am not entirely sure how you “get-up” on a surfboard w/o the benefit of any kind of foot straps?
It must be magic.
