Mehmet Kadiev, head brewer at Hog Haus Brewing Co. in Fayetteville and John Collier of Washington County spent a good part of Wednesday May 6, 2009 brewing a beer formulated by Collier.
Collier won a recent home brewing competition sponsored by the Hog Haus Brewing Co. to brew a British beer style known as an Extra Special Bitter. Part of Collier’s prize for winning was to join Kadiev while he brewed a scaled-up version of Collier’s recipe that will be for sale at the Hog Haus Brewing Co. once it ferments.
As a home brewer myself, I was almost as excited as Collier to see the big system in action. I look forward to trying this brew in a few weeks.
