The Mounties and the War Eagles will play each other for the first time this coming Friday night. Members of the community concerned that students from the two schools develop a healthy rivalry put together an event for the kids this past weekend. Both schools’ bands marched up to the stage in downtown Rogers. Then, they took turns playing music as their respective cheerleading squads performed while the other school’s group of cheerleaders gaggled together and watched. Watching, a smile tickled the corners of my mouth as I realized the scene reminded me of something. It reminded of the play West Side Story.  So I worked to get a photo that spoke to that theme. Earlier, I had been worried about what kind of photo I could get from the event because there were so few people there when the event began.
