Go Hogs!

I Just finished shooting the Razorbacks vs. Western Illinois season opener. It was new head coach Bobby Petrino’s first game and it was… well a football game. I really thought Arkansas might lose this one but quarterback Casey Dick came alive in the second half and Arkansas won 28-24.

Another Day, Another Fire

House fires occur with some frequency and as a photographer I go to quite a few. You become very detached when photographing something like this because if you become emotional you won’t do your job well. Sometimes though, when people are hurt or die, it’s difficult to maintain that distance. In this case, there was [...]

Eeek A Spider!

The other day I was following Benton County deputy Johnny Newell to photograph him for a story our reporter Melissa Sherman is writing. We pulled up to a house in southeast Benton County where neighbors reported dogs running loose. Neighbors told authorities the occupants of the home had been served with an eviction notice. Swarms [...]

Fore!

Last week I shot photos of Courtney Burris, a senior at Springdale Har-Ber High School, and her “caddy” Mike Shea, director of the First Tee of NWA, during a practice round in Fayetteville.  Both Burris and Shea are going to Pebble Beach Golf Course in California to play alongside former PGA Tour legends, is later [...]

Freshman Move-In

Students finished up the dorm move-in process yesterday on the campus of the University of Arkansas. The University developed an efficient way to help the students move- parents and students drove through the parking lots outside the dorms, dropped all the belongings off curbside, and drove away to avoid a build-up of traffic congestion. Volunteers [...]

A Second Chance

From time to time a photo that we shoot for the newspaper doesn’t get published. This is usually because of space restrictions in the next day’s edition. A tragedy unfolded in Little Rock yesterday that altered the amount of space we had for Thursday’s paper. The photo pictured above was set to run but was [...]

Arkansas’ Fall Practice Begins

Arkansas kicked off its fall football season last week. I was on duty for Hawgs Illustrated for the week and spent each day shooting practice. Here is a collection of some of the photos from last week. The image above is from Saturday morning. Coach Petrino had the entire team running sprints at the start [...]
