I had a tough time with my skating assignment on Monday. No matter where I moved or what lens I used, I just couldn’t shoot something that really appealed to me. The sky contained some interesting could formations so I started to incorporate clouds into my shots and it still wasn’t working for me. Finally, I started to just entertain myself and turned the camera upside down to get sky as my primary background. That series of photos led to the one we used in the newspaper. I wouldn’t have shot the photo we used had I not entertained myself by looking at things from a completely different angle.
